Roadside Assistance When
You Need it Most

With TrueProtect Roadside Assistance, you can be confident that help will be there for you when you need it most. For every year of service, you'll benefit from up to three paid emergency roadside assistance claims.

We offer the following services:

Towing

If your vehicle cannot be started or will not operate under its own power without causing damage, your vehicle will be towed to the closest repair facility. Maximum tow distance is 30 miles from the location of the vehicle. One tow per disablement permitted. (Additional accommodations or services may be arranged at your request and expense.)

Flat Tire

If your tire becomes flat or disabled, resulting in the immobilization of your vehicle, the roadside provider will coordinate the installation of your inflated spare. If you have no spare or if your spare is flat, no reimbursement is available for the cost of tire repair or the second service call to return the repaired tire to the disabled vehicle.

Battery Boost Services

If your vehicle won't start due to loss of battery charge, minor emergency mechanical adjustments and battery boost will be attempted at the point of disablement.

Emergency Fuel Service

If you run out of fuel, the roadside provider will deliver an emergency supply of gas, up to two gallons, to get your car back on the road. Member pays only for the cost of the fuel delivered.

Lockout Service

If you lock your keys in your car, the roadside provider will pay for a service call to open the car.

Extrication/Winching Service

Service call to extricate your vehicle from a ditch, snow, mud, or sand when it can be safely reached from a normally traveled or established thoroughfare. Cannot be used for everyday snow removal. Special equipment or additional trucks or personnel-associated costs may be at your expense.

Any additional expenses incurred beyond the coverages as outlined above will be your responsibility to pay directly to the service provider at the time of service, and are not reimbursable. Services are provided through a network of independent service providers authorized by The American Traveler Motor Club.

Roadside Assistance - Details and Restrictions

Membership

Services and benefits are only available in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico and for incidents that occur while your TrueProtect package is active. Remember, coverage is on the individual member - not the vehicle. You are covered in any car you drive as long as the type of vehicle is covered as explained herein. Membership benefits do not cover non-members who drive your car.

Membership services are available 24 hours after the date membership fees are successfully collected.

Claim Policy

To maintain a high standard of service with fair and reasonable dues for all members, roadside assistance is limited to three (3) paid claims per membership year, one of which can be a towing occurrence. These services include jump start, flat tire change, fuel delivery, winching (removing a stuck vehicle), towing, lockout, lost key service, and claim reimbursement. If you exceed the annual claims limit and additional roadside assistance is needed during a membership year, the roadside provider will continue to dispatch service on a "cash call" basis for your disabled vehicle. You must pay any resulting service charges at the time service is rendered, and these charges are not reimbursable. The number of service claims for your membership will be reset to zero upon each anniversary of your membership enrollment.

Special Equipment

Roadside Assistance coverage includes one normally equipped service vehicle, one driver, and one service call per disablement. Any costs for additional personnel or special equipment are not covered, are at the member's expense, and are not reimbursable.

Types of Vehicles

The Roadside Provider offers full road and towing services to vehicles designed, licensed, and used for private passenger type, including station wagons, jeeps, truck type vehicles, and recreational vehicles with a manufacturer's load capacity of one ton or less designed for use on public roads and not being used commercially, including transporting property for business purposes or passengers or cargo for hire.

Roadside Assistance Does Not Include

The purpose of roadside assistance is to provide service in common emergency situations. Coverage does not include:

  • Service if member is not with the disabled vehicle. However, do not remain with the vehicle if it is unsafe to do so.
  • Towing or service while at an auto repair shop or service station, to another location.
